In August 1888, London was terrorized by a chain of serial killings. Five women were strangled and dissected, then left lying in the streets. The police were taunted with letters signed "Jack the Ripper".
 
Then in 1893, the World's Fair came to Chicago, and a man named Herman Webster Mudgett, going by H. H. Holmes murdered scores of women in his "murder castle".
 
With serial killings so rare, could these two be the same person?
